Michael Chandler defends his Bellator Lightweight Championship title tonight. Here are a few videos that provide an insight into how intriguing he is as a person and a fighter.
First up is the fight of the year contender in which he won the title from Eddie Alvarez. A back and forth war of mental and physical stress that was unfairly overshadowed by a UFC event that provided an equally great main event.
Heading into the bout, Alvarez was on a seven fight win streak and touted as the best lightweight outside of Zuffa’s control. Chandler was a serious underdog as he was a relative newcomer to MMA and hadn’t accrued the top level experience that his opponent owned. Nevertheless, Chandler was on an undefeated tear of his own, showing signs of great potential winning a very competitive Bellator Lightweight tournament to reach this pinnacle and earning the shot at the title.
Next is a highlight video created by MMAInterviews.tv which gives a little taste of Michael’s work ethics and approach to training/MMA.
And lastly, a promo for tonight’s event. This is gonna be hella fun.

It is new years eve and what better way to end the year than to reflect on some of the great boxing match ups of the past twelve months. HBO have hosted some action packed and fierce fights this year and chose to feature seven of them for free online. Although this is not visible from our UK region, there are other ways to acquire the couple of fights on their list that I haven’t seen (F#*k you HBO).
For now, this simple taster video will have to serve as a reminder of these incredible fights.

UFC’s YouTube channel has uploaded eight of Junior Dos Santos and Cain Velasquez’s last fights. Remind yourselves why they are regarded as the two best Heavyweights in the world and get psyched for their rematch tonight.

Bloodyelbow just posted a great article to promote UFC on FOX5. It looks at Nate Diaz’s unorthodox boxing technique and compares it to the striking used by 18th and 19th century pugilists. There is a link within the article to an older one that looks at Nick Diaz which is also worth checking out.
This weekend WILL be awesome, Pacquiao vs Marquez IV AND UFC on Fox 5… if your fists don’t have boners then there is something wrong with you.
If you didn’t know, Pacquiao and Marquez share a storied history. Each of their previous three fights have been razor close and seem to always be surrounded in some kind of controversy. Marquez fights with a style that draws the worst out of Manny and has the very real potential to pull off a win against his long-time rival tomorrow night. As an apology for not posting in a while how about you check out ALL THREE of their fights below:
