Check out the trailer for the upcoming movie Tattoo Nation, which tells the story of the birth of black and grey tattooing. I originally assumed that this was a dramatisation of Jack Rudy’s life and career, but it appears to be more of a documentary type film. Jack Rudy was one of the first tattooers to take the single needle, prison style tattoo into the mainstream, creating black and grey tattoos the likes of which had never been seen before. This was truly a revolution in the tattoo world, and Good Time Charlie’s Tattooland was the epicentre.
