When a true sporting legend retires, looking back on their career can sometimes be somewhat bittersweet. Nobody likes remembering Mike Tyson getting beaten up by Kevin McBride, or Chuck Liddell’s last few KO losses. But I think it is important to focus on an athletes dominance in their prime, as it’s these fights that really inspire you to work that little bit harder and push yourself that little bit further. MMA in particular is a sport full of fighters that got to where they are on the back of little more than hard work, and a big heart.
So this is how I choose to remember Fedor Emelianenko, the legendary fighter who, in his prime, was the greatest warrior on the planet.
